Welcome to 1984 (oops I mean 2024)
Here comes 2024 – a pause to consider next steps forward. For me, I want to take those next steps with love on my mind and in my heart as my first strategy for moving ahead. In that place I can have faith in the unfolding, come what may, be that bad or good. I have learned that getting this out of order is the “sin” of this life. When loving comes before judging, life is affirmed. When judging comes before loving, life is subordinated to judgment and extinguished. Borrowing from the Bible, turning first to face the tree of life puts love before the taste of judgment from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. This order of things changes the fruit and I want to make fruitful judgments on the path forward.
In that spirit, making love my first strategy on the way ahead, I want to say, publicly, that I am against and stand opposed to the MAGA/Trump/Republicans branding themselves with Christian culture, spreading lies, supporting violent insurrection and seeding hate for free expression, free thought and free practice of anything non-Christian. The Trump rant of hate places me in the trash bin end of his enemies - the Vermin. I am not a Republican, not MAGA-man, MAGA-Christian, or MAGA-American – so, I am Vermin. But in a democracy, Vermin Vote! And I am voting for democracy and against MAGA/Trump/Republicans across all tickets. To stop me, you will have to shoot me. I’ll be on 5th Ave.
You don’t contradict things you experience in church – that’s not polite – but the conservative mindset is in charge of the Christian church leadership, financially, and politically. The American Christian Church is, by and far, more of a political organization than a church when it seeks to control and protect a culture from foreign threat. When those outside the accepted church are labeled vermin, it is the mission of the church to turn or burn them. As long as vermin exist, the way of life of good American Christians is being threatened.
Republicans, by and large, believe that the natural order of things is white male dominance and that that natural order is being unjustly challenged. Republicans, by and large, believe that the use of free slave labor by the Confederacy was a way of life that was threatened by the North and that, therefore, the war was fought, not over slavery, but over the wrongful exercise of brute economic force by the North take away the legitimate economic model of slavery. So, the Confederate mindset, it was never about slavery, it was about economics, their way of life. So, today, it continues. The mindset of the Republican Party is that democracy is a threat to the authority of the church and the way of life of Republicans. In a democracy, competing points of view have a chance of bringing about changes - changes that are unacceptable to Republicans. By a higher authority than democracy, Republicans have a duty to protect their way of life from the wrong thinking of the outsider. The Big Lie is not a lie. It is the Republican divinity of truth overcoming the evil of vermin. It is justified by God. MAGA-church is the antithesis of democracy. He who is rightful (Trump) must be restored to rule and all rightful Americans rescued from the vile vermin.

Vermin are a threat to conservative white nationalists and God has raised up Donald Trump, to champion the “church”, rooting out the Vermin, by whatever means necessary. All of this to protect a way of life (the American Christian church) from the threat of the outsider, the Vermin. The Republican Party is proud to bring its loyal followers the Savior, Trump, who promises to reign eternal damnation and extermination upon Vermin. Christian purity and authority with be preserved and freedom and liberty bestowed upon the loyal conditioned on fealty to the Anointed One, Trump. Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord Almighty! If you can sing this with Trump in your heart, you are welcome in the Republican Party.

Its where consensus of the people is translated into governance. If something is, by and large, true it is known to be true, it is generally shared. means a consensus majority upon which governance acts.
Gaius tell us - Can you be a Republican without being a Christian, or can you be a Christian without being a Republican? I’m just asking for a friend.
Well, first it is clear that the church is looking for the most flawed among us to be their King. The churched among us remind us constantly that God uses broken and flawed people for His purposes. Perhaps it is a misunderstanding that the more flawed the Christian is, the better leader, ergo, vote Trump. So, now that you know that Christian Church wants Trump to be King and the Republican Party Trump wants Trump to be President all as ordained by God, there is no reason for an election. There is no democracy in church. The Church and the Republican Party are one and the same. God is the Man, just like Trump is the Man. Trump stands in the place of Jesus for the Republican Party, holding up his Bible and saying the Pledge of Allegiance to America.
Gaius, tell us: Can I still be a Christian if I don’t vote for Trump?
Well, ask yourself this, what would Republican Jesus do? I think you know the answer.

By and far logic. 2/3rds 70% 60% 51%. And “all Israel agree” from the Bible is not 100%. But that the people agreed, by and large, is the point. It went to the people. And “all Americans agreed” is not happening. People want gun control. Not every single one of the people but, by and far, by and large “all Americans agree” on some things, and those things don’t happen with the Republican Party.
That is democracy and democracy is not safe with the Republican Party. Not a safe place.
Can we quit pretending the Republican Party is safe. It’s a danger to democracy. It has formally declared that insurrection is legitimate political discourse for Republicans. Violence in service of taking and retaining power in the hands of Republicans is justified by the God of Christian Nationalism. The Big Lie is not a lie. It is the divinity of truth overcoming the evil of Vermin.
Can you say criminal, criminal. Can you say criminal. Yes, you can say criminal. Guilty ‘cause he took the 5th, took the 5th, took the 5th.
Can you say insurrection? Not in church. That’s political and church has nothing to do with what’s happening here and now. You’ll be better off dead anyway.
